No number. No middleman. Not even internet.

Salto never asks for your phone number or email, keeps no server able to read you, seals every message with post-quantum encryption and hides who talks to whom. With no network at all, nearby phones carry it. Try it right here: cut the connection, write, bring a relay within range.

Interactive demo · Simulated data ·

  • Arc: aggregated flow between two regions
  • Pulse: a volume of envelopes over the period, delayed. Never a single message or its route.
  • Pulse cadence: more pulses, moving faster, mean a larger share of the period's volume on that link
  • Halo size and brightness: the region's share of the largest region on this layer
  • Pin: one region, never one device
  • Cells: capacity filled (offered, used, verified)
  • Squares: processing units offered
  • Diamond: network service roles active in the region
  • Stacked squares: verified pack copies hosted in the region
  • Ring: relay sessions offered by contributors with a real connection
  • Dashed ring: hidden to protect participant privacy
  • Hollow: no measurements received
  • Amber: data out of date
  • Never shown: addresses, exact positions, Survival questions, internet destinations
Why aren't individual relays shown?

To protect participants, SALTO keeps the exact locations of relays, nodes and devices private. The Atlas shows delayed regional activity. Animated connections represent aggregated flows or clearly identified simulations. Areas with too few participants are grouped or hidden.

08 Why "Salto"

A message that jumps.

Salto means "jump" in Spanish and in Italian. In the demo, every time your message passes from one device to the next, that is literally a salto: A to B is the first jump, B to C the second.

Run the demo above: each hop you trigger is a salto.

Our proposed technical reading

Secure Asynchronous Local Transport Overlay: the transport layer at the heart of Salto. Each word maps to something you just saw.

Secure
The envelope was sealed for C. B carried it without being able to read it.
Asynchronous
Your message waited on A while nobody was in range. Sender and recipient never had to be reachable at the same moment.
Local
Every hop used Bluetooth or local Wi-Fi between nearby devices, with the internet off.
Transport
B moved the envelope physically closer to C. Relays transport messages; they do not open them.
Overlay
Salto runs on top of phones and radios that already exist. No new antenna and no central server were needed for this path.

12 Questions

Good questions.

How do I start?

Install Salto, add a contact by scanning their QR code and send a message. No account, no phone number and no internet needed for nearby chat.

How far can a message travel offline?

Each hop covers the Bluetooth or Wi-Fi range of a phone. With relays in between, your message jumps from device to device to reach people well beyond your own range.

Can a relay read my message?

No. Relays carry sealed envelopes that only the recipient can open. Per-relationship identities and Hardened mode keep what the network can observe to a minimum.

Who can see my data on a node?

Storage fragments are encrypted and unreadable to the node that holds them. Compute tasks run isolated, and only with the data you choose to send.

Will a Salto number work with every service?

It works for calls, SMS and most sign-ups. Some banks and platforms only accept long-term carrier numbers for one-time codes.

Do I need the partner program?

No. It is optional, free and run by a separate company. Salto works fully without it, and it never sees your conversations, keys, VPN routes or location.

Is my demo message sent anywhere?

No. It stays in this browser tab, is not stored, and disappears when you reset or close the page.

Which languages does Salto speak?

English, French, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, German and Portuguese.

Technology

How Salto works, layer by layer.

Follow a message from your keyboard to its recipient, then go deeper into the radios, the encryption, the routes and the proofs that make Salto work without internet.

01 A message's journey

Four moments, each one visible.

Salto shows exactly where your message is. A relay's receipt and the recipient's acknowledgement are never confused.

  1. 01

    Prepare

Your draft is sealed for one recipient and signed, with a unique ID against duplicates and a time to live.

  2. 02

    Transmit

Waiting for a neighbour, handed to a relay, or on its way. A relay's signed receipt proves the handover.

  3. 03

    Receive

The recipient opens it and signs an acknowledgement. Retries and duplicates never create two visible copies.

  4. 04

    Resume

Restart, low battery or a suspended app: messages stay sealed on the device and pick up where they left off.

02 Try it

  4. 4Ciphertext
  5. 5Envelope ID (SHA-256)
  6. 6Opened with the right key
  7. 7One bit changed in transit

Demo engine: AES-256-GCM and SHA-256 from your browser. The app uses XChaCha20-Poly1305 for the payload, with keys from PQXDH and the Triple Ratchet.

03 Anatomy of an envelope

What a relay actually carries.

Relays move envelopes they cannot open. Here is what is inside one.

Sealed payload
Your words, encrypted for the recipient's keys only.
Relationship key ID
A pseudonym unique to this conversation, so contexts cannot be linked.
Unique ID
Lets every device drop duplicates when an envelope arrives twice.
Time to live
Expired envelopes are discarded everywhere along the route.
Hop limit
Caps how far an envelope can travel, preventing loops.
Size padding
Evens out sizes so envelopes look alike to observers.

Three routing rules Salto never breaks

  1. Local first: nearby delivery never needs the internet.
  2. Your route, your call: before any route that shares more, Salto asks.
  3. No silent fallback: if the chosen route is down, the message waits.

05 How it works

Start from what you do.

Every action in Salto rides on proven, open technology. Here is what powers each moment.

Four trust domains

LOCAL
Messages, files, contacts, notes and local AI on your device. Usable without any server. Reconnecting never triggers a silent export.
CONNECT
Remote messages, relays, aliases, VPN and external services. Each operation receives only the data it needs.
VAULT
Your keys sign on dedicated hardware or a device kept offline. A Bluetooth-linked app tab is not physical isolation.
SHIELD
Optional network or payment protections, chosen per transport and per chain that actually supports them.

When you press Send with the internet off

01 · Powered byBluetooth Low Energy

What it does
Nearby phones discover each other and exchange small encrypted packets, phone to phone, with no network at all.
Good to know
Range depends on your phone and surroundings; relays extend it hop by hop.

When you send a voice note or a photo nearby

02 · Powered byLocal Wi-Fi (peer-to-peer)

What it does
Devices close to each other open a faster local link for larger payloads, without a router or internet.
Good to know
Salto picks Bluetooth or local Wi-Fi automatically for each transfer.

When you let relay B carry your message

03 · Powered byEnd-to-end encryption (Signal protocol, MLS for groups)

What it does
Only the recipient's keys open the envelope. Group chats use MLS (IETF RFC 9420), with post-quantum key exchange.
Good to know
Relays only ever handle sealed envelopes. Groups get fresh keys as members change.

When you switch Salto VPN to Fast

04 · Powered byWireGuard

What it does
A modern encrypted tunnel from your device to an exit server, protecting your traffic from the local network and your provider.
Good to know
Want to hide from the exit too? Switch to Private mode.

When you choose Private mode

05 · Powered byTor (Arti client), onion services and bridges

What it does
Traffic crosses three independent relays so no single one knows both who you are and where you go. Salto mailboxes run as onion services, and bridges (obfs4, Snowflake, WebTunnel) get you through where Tor is blocked.
Good to know
Slower than Fast mode, ideal when privacy matters more than speed.

When you send a message that can wait

06 · Powered byMixnet (Nym)

What it does
Packets are wrapped in layers, delayed and mixed with cover traffic, so an observer struggles to link when you sent and when it arrived.
Good to know
Best for messages and requests that can wait a moment.

When you let two Salto services talk peer to peer

07 · Powered byI2P

What it does
A private network for Salto's internal, distributed services.
Good to know
Runs Salto's internal peer-to-peer services.

When you prove you hold a plan without showing your account

08 · Powered byZero-knowledge proofs, Privacy Pass (RFC 9576)

What it does
You present a token or proof that a statement is true, such as a valid entitlement, without revealing the account behind it.
Good to know
The service learns that you are entitled, and nothing more.

When you approve a payment from your vault

09 · Powered byCold signing

What it does
A connected device prepares the payment. A separate offline signer shows amount, recipient, network and fee, signs, and returns only the signature.
Good to know
Your keys never touch an online device.

When you translate a note in airplane mode

10 · Powered byOn-device AI (llama.cpp) and a policy engine (OPA)

What it does
The model runs on your device. Any remote task becomes a Mission Capsule whose limits are enforced by a policy engine, independently of what the AI writes.
Good to know
Remote tasks run only with the data, budget and time you approve.

When you look at the public Atlas

11 · Powered byH3 grid and differential privacy

What it does
Devices compute a coarse region locally. Publication is delayed, thresholded and noised before anyone sees it.
Good to know
Sparse regions stay hidden, so no one can be singled out.

Services

Everything Salto does, in one place.

Ten services, every capability in one place. Each one tells you what works offline, what goes online and which protocols protect it.

01 Services

Private? Prove it.

Follow a message off-grid. See what a relay can learn. Verify a file for yourself.

What you just saw Two halos in turn: the relay accepts the envelope, then the recipient confirms delivery.

Available

Salto Chat & Mesh

Private conversations, nearby or far

Offline
Nearby messages, groups, relays, QR contacts, delayed delivery.
Needs internet
Remote delivery and mailboxes, only on a route you choose.

What you just saw Traffic enters the tunnel and follows the route you chose. When the route breaks, sending pauses instead of leaking.

Available

Salto VPN

Protect a connection

Offline
Offline mode opens no internet route at all.
Needs internet
Private (Tor), Hardened (mixnet) and Fast (WireGuard) modes.

What you just saw Fragments are stored and checked; one fragment fails its recovery check and is refused.

Available

Salto Node

Put your devices to work

Offline
A phone or beacon relays nearby envelopes.
Needs internet
Storage, compute, model cache and blockchain roles, within your quotas.

What you just saw The request is handled on the phone. The remote branch opens only after you approve the mission.

Available

Salto AI

Local and connected assistant

Offline
Translate, transcribe and search your authorised notes on device.
Needs internet
Remote tasks only through a bounded mission you approve.

What you just saw A payment is prepared field by field, signed on your device, then broadcast through a private route.

In development

Salto Pay

BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC wallet

Offline
Prepare a payment and sign it; see the last known balance.
Needs internet
Broadcast, confirmations and balance refresh, network named.

What you just saw An alias is created for one service, counts down, then expires on its own.

Available

Private identity

Email aliases, SMS numbers, profiles

Offline
Your profiles, passwords, passkeys and TOTP codes stay on device.
Needs internet
Creating aliases and receiving email or SMS need a provider.

What you just saw The internet signal disappears, your library stays lit, a pack arrives from a nearby device and its source opens.

Available

SALTO Survival

Your offline knowledge library

Offline
Search and read your guides; ask an assistant that shows the passages it used; get a missing guide from a nearby device.
Needs internet
Prepare packs and the assistant model; update them when a connection returns.

What you just saw Two devices pair, the tunnel lights up to the gateway, then stops when the quota is reached or the session is revoked.

Available

Internet Relay

Share a connection nearby

Offline
Messages and stored documents travel between nearby devices with no internet at all.
Needs internet
A neighbour with a real connection can share it for a set time and amount, through a tunnel to a managed gateway.

What you just saw A kiosk broadcasts, a phone without app reads, a ticket waits, the guide arrives verified.

Available

Guest & Dispatch

Public documents without an app, guides on request

Offline
Read a kiosk's public documents in any browser; request a missing guide and keep a ticket.
Needs internet
A relay fetches the requested guide from an authorised source when it passes a connection.

What you just saw A file becomes a fingerprint and a seal; change one byte and the seal breaks.

Available

Blockchain & Verification

Check files, receipts and approvals yourself

Offline
Fingerprints, signatures and version checks run on your device.
Needs internet
Inclusion, confirmations and freshness need a current view of the chain.

What you just saw Three proofs are checked - age, country, one real person - while the document itself stays hidden.

Available

Salto Pass

One private KYC for the whole network

Offline
Your pass and its proofs are generated on your device.
Needs internet
Verify once with an accredited verifier; each service receives only a proof.

What you just saw Two aggregated regions light up, an arc appears and a pulse travels along an aggregated link (demo data).

Available

Salto Atlas

The world network, aggregated

Offline
Your own devices are listed in your private space, not on the map.
Needs internet
Live regional activity, delayed and thresholded for privacy.

Protect a connection, your way.

Four modes, chosen per service. Salto always shows which route carries your traffic, and never switches it behind your back.

Who you trust
One exit operator sees destinations

Protection scope

Salto only, or the whole device where the system allows it. The screen always names the exit that receives your traffic and how to turn it off.

Two separate indicators

"Tunnel active" and "local network working" are shown apart, so a nearby chat never hides a dropped tunnel.

No silent fallback

If the route you chose fails, traffic that requires it stops and waits. Nearby local exchanges keep working.

Leak-protected on every platform: DNS, IPv6, Wi-Fi changes and wake from sleep.

02 Watch the layers

One packet, three locks, three relays.

Your request is locked three times on your phone. Each relay opens only its own lock and learns only the next hop. The exit sees the destination, never you.

One packet, three locks, three relays. YouGuardMiddleExitWebsite

03 How it works

Start from what you do.

Every action in Salto rides on proven, open technology. Here is what powers each moment.

When you switch Salto VPN to Fast

01 · Powered byWireGuard

What it does
A modern encrypted tunnel from your device to an exit server, protecting your traffic from the local network and your provider.
Good to know
Want to hide from the exit too? Switch to Private mode.

When you choose Private mode

02 · Powered byTor (Arti client), onion services and bridges

What it does
Traffic crosses three independent relays so no single one knows both who you are and where you go. Salto mailboxes run as onion services, and bridges (obfs4, Snowflake, WebTunnel) get you through where Tor is blocked.
Good to know
Slower than Fast mode, ideal when privacy matters more than speed.

When you send a message that can wait

03 · Powered byMixnet (Nym)

What it does
Packets are wrapped in layers, delayed and mixed with cover traffic, so an observer struggles to link when you sent and when it arrived.
Good to know
Best for messages and requests that can wait a moment.

When you let two Salto services talk peer to peer

04 · Powered byI2P

What it does
A private network for Salto's internal, distributed services.
Good to know
Runs Salto's internal peer-to-peer services.

You control

Which roles, disk and data limits, energy budget, hours, end date and pause.

Always a separate opt-in

VPN exit, blockchain node and transaction broadcasting each need their own consent. Nothing turns on automatically.

Rewards

Earn for the service your device actually delivers: relaying, storage and compute, measured and verified before every payout. Never for idle presence or self-generated traffic.

Storage fragments are encrypted and unreadable to the host. Compute tasks run isolated in a sandbox.

02 Storage that survives

Thirty pieces. Any ten bring it back.

A file is encrypted on your phone, then split with Reed-Solomon into 30 fragments spread over different devices. Switch devices off: as long as 10 fragments remain reachable, the file comes back whole. No device ever holds a readable piece.

Your file

Tap a device to switch it off or on.

SALTO Lab

Inside SALTO Protocols.

The mechanisms SALTO is designing, the privacy and security question each one answers, and the established primitives they build on: blind signatures, Privacy Pass, zero-knowledge proofs, PIR, MPC, FHE, TEE and post-quantum cryptography.

01 SALTO Protocols & Research

SALTO Protocols & Research

SALTO is designing protocols for private message handoffs, verifiable storage and permission-bound AI tasks. Each one answers a precise question: did a relay accept the message, can a storage provider recover the requested data, is an AI agent still authorised to act?

Built on established primitives: blind signatures, Privacy Pass, zero-knowledge proofs, proofs of knowledge, PIR, MPC, FHE, TEE and post-quantum mechanisms.

05 Research tracks

Fourteen techniques under study, T01 to T14.

Each card names the observer it would limit, the concrete use, what it protects, its limit, the maturity of the standard and the test that would move it forward. These are research tracks, separate from SALTO's own protocols and from features in the app.

Regions

How Atlas protects privacy

Pick a sparse region and filter on NAS only. If the filter could single out an operator, the Atlas hides the figure and says why.

The public API returns the same published data: GET /api/atlas. No coordinates finer than a region, no device, no IP, no identifier, no route.

Atlas privacy features

Salto Atlas shows where the network is active, region by region. Participation is voluntary, publication is delayed and sparse regions stay hidden, so the map never reveals a person. Your own devices live in your private space.

Coarse regionsDevices compute a broad region locally. No GPS point ever leaves your phone.
Delayed and thresholdedActivity is published after a delay, only once a region has enough participants.
Counted separatelyRelays, devices, available capacity and delivered tasks each have their own figure.
Activity by region Hidden: below threshold
Illustrative view
02 Privacy threshold

Below the threshold, a region stays dark.

Move the threshold. A region is published only when enough devices are active in it, so a published cell never points to a single person.

How money is handled

  • Plans and services are paid in BTC, ETH, USDT or USDC only.
  • A person reviews each incoming payment before your plan activates.
  • Every payout, refund or commission is approved by an authorised person and signed by a human treasury signer at the company that owes it. Any change of amount, asset, network, address or fee cap cancels the approval.
  • Your personal wallet is self-custodial and kept apart from both companies' treasuries. AI never signs or broadcasts a payment.

03 Questions

Salto AI

An assistant that works where your data is.

Salto AI translates, transcribes, summarises and searches on your device, even without internet. When a task needs more power, it prepares a mission you can inspect, trim, redirect or refuse.

Four things Salto AI does

01

Local assistant, even offline

Translate or rephrase a message, transcribe a voice note, summarise a document, search authorised notes and files, with the model available on the device.

Translate the demo message in airplane mode above.

02

Connected mission, with permission

For a task beyond the device, Salto prepares a mission with the selected data, the tools needed, the executor, a duration and an optional budget.

Remove a passage, change the destination, then refuse or revoke.

03

Help with devices and services

Explains why a message is waiting, why a node paused its contribution or why a task exceeds a quota, from the state you allow it to read.

Pick a situation below and read the explanation.

04

Distributed computing and operations

A personal computer or compatible node can run authorised tasks. The assistant also helps an operator understand a failure, a receipt or an order status.

Compare phone, computer and remote node in the table.

01 Salto AI

Follow the data.

Why SALTO

Every hop is a salto.

Salto means jump in Italian and in Spanish. Watch your message jump from one device to the next, then read the five words hidden in the name.

01 Why SALTO

Watch the jump.

Each time the envelope passes from one device to the next, that is a salto. Hover a word to see which part of the scene it names.

08 Why "Salto"

A message that jumps.

Salto means "jump" in Spanish and in Italian. In the demo, every time your message passes from one device to the next, that is literally a salto: A to B is the first jump, B to C the second.

Run the demo above: each hop you trigger is a salto.

SALTO Survival

Your offline knowledge library.

Prepare your guides while you are online. When the network goes down, search them, read them and ask questions that cite their sources. A guide you lack can come from a nearby device, checked before it opens.

01 Find a guide without internet

Find a guide without internet.

Turn the internet off, search for a power-outage guide, and watch a nearby NAS share a verified copy over the mesh. Then disconnect the NAS: your copy stays readable.

What happens nearby

Everything runs in your browser. Sizes and names are illustrative.

Your guides are on this phone. Turn the internet off, then search.

02 Four situations

What works, depending on your device and who is nearby.

Salto tells you what this device can do before you need it.

01

I prepared my device before the outage

Search your local guides, open documents and, if your device runs a compatible model, ask a question and see the passages used for the answer.

  • Search and reading with every radio off
  • Answers list their sources
02

My phone stores guides but cannot run the model

Search and reading stay available offline. The screen shows which functions work on this device, the size of each pack and the space left.

  • No silent download
  • Clear list of what this device can do
03

I lack a guide, a nearby device has it

With its owner's consent, a phone, computer or participating NAS shares the pack over the mesh. You see size, language, version and provenance before accepting; Salto checks the signed manifest and every fragment, then keeps the copy.

  • Nothing opens before verification
  • The copy stays after the device leaves
04

A nearby computer can run the assistant for me

You can separately allow a question, or selected passages, to be sent to that computer. The screen names the recipient, the data sent and how long the permission lasts.

  • Hosting, compute and questions are three permissions
  • Refusing keeps local search working

SALTO Internet Relay

Internet, shared nearby on your terms.

When one person nearby still has internet, they can choose to share it: for a set time, a set amount of data and only with the people they accept. Traffic goes through an encrypted tunnel to a managed gateway, never out of their own address.

01 Three different things

Relay a message, share a document, or share internet.

Only the third needs someone nearby with a real connection who chooses to share it.

03

Share internet access

Needs a real upstream connection and the owner's consent

A neighbour with a connection lets you use it, within limits they set, through a tunnel to a managed gateway.

Share a connection nearby
02 Share a connection nearby

Share a connection nearby.

Alice has no internet. Ben has a connection and offers a short session. Play both roles: set Ben's limits, accept as Alice, follow the path, then cut the gateway.

Ben decides who, how long, how much and how fast. Nothing is shared until he offers.

Combining the relay with Salto VPN in Private mode adds Tor routing after the gateway, so the gateway no longer sees destinations either.

03 How it works

Local link, encrypted tunnel, managed gateway.

The nearby link and the permission to share are one problem; the tunnel is another. Each layer is chosen for its own job.

Tunnel to the gateway: WireGuard first, MASQUE CONNECT-IP compared

CriterionWireGuardMASQUE CONNECT-IP (RFC 9484)
Threat modelAuthenticated peers with static keys; small attack surfaceIP over HTTP/3 through a proxy; looks like ordinary web traffic
CompatibilityKernel or user-space on every major platformNeeds an HTTP/3 stack on client and gateway
Metadata visible on the pathA UDP flow to the gatewayAn HTTPS flow to the gateway
BatteryVery low idle costHigher cost from the HTTP/3 and QUIC stack
ThroughputHighGood; depends on QUIC tuning
Recovery after a cutFast: roams across addressesFast: QUIC connection migration
MaintenanceSmall, audited code baseNewer standard; fewer mature implementations

Start with WireGuard; use CONNECT-IP where a network blocks plain UDP tunnels and an HTTP proxy path gives a concrete advantage. Both carry Salto's post-quantum key exchange on top.

What each platform allows

PlatformLocal link set up by SaltoSharing internetDevice check
iPhone and iPadPeer-to-peer link between nearby devicesPersonal Hotspot, turned on by the user in Settings; depends on the carrier planTo verify on real devices
AndroidLocal-only hotspot: nearby devices talk, with no internet on that networkSystem hotspot setting, turned on by the userTo verify on real devices
ComputerLocal Wi-Fi or wired linkWindows Mobile Hotspot can be driven by an app with the right permission; on Mac, Internet Sharing is a system settingTo verify on real devices

Salto never bypasses a system setting. Before any rewarded pilot, the carrier terms on sharing a connection are checked market by market.

Controls for the person who shares

  • Voluntary activation, off by default
  • Who may join: people or sessions you accept
  • Session length and data limit
  • Maximum speed and number of people
  • Stop below a battery level
  • Separate permission for roaming
  • Your home network and devices isolated from guests
  • Stop now: every session closes at once; revoke one session at any time

Rewards Eligible contributions may earn rewards when a requested service is delivered and verified.

Local services

Useful before you even install anything.

A kiosk's documents in any browser, a guide fetched while you are away, notices you can trust, forms that travel encrypted, screen-to-camera transfers and private group consultations.

01 SALTO Guest + Dispatch

No app, no account, no internet. Still the right guide.

A passenger joins the ship's kiosk Wi-Fi in a browser, asks for a guide the kiosk does not have, keeps an ephemeral ticket and leaves. A relay later reaches an authorised source. Back on board, the passenger opens the guide and checks where it comes from.

Simulated Kiosk, relays and source are simulated in this tab. The ticket lives in this page only.

You are on board, no internet. Join the kiosk Wi-Fi in your browser.

02 SALTO Bulletins

Drafts stay protected on the phone. A finalised form is encrypted for the organisation, carried by any device, and imported once.

    04 Optical transfer

Screen to camera, no radio at all.

A small object (an invitation, an attestation, a signing request) travels as a sequence of QR frames. Missed frames are rebuilt from the extra ones.

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi off. Play the frames.

Any camera that sees the screen can copy a visible QR: sensitive objects are encrypted for their recipient. Size is limited; large guides use Wi-Fi or the mesh. Frames here are illustrative.

02 Verify a file for yourself

Change one byte. Watch the proof fail.

This check really runs in your browser: SHA-256 fingerprint, the publisher's signature over the manifest, the version policy and the path to a timestamp commitment. Each result names exactly the property it verifies.

    First bytes (hexadecimal)

Computed in your browser The fingerprint, signature and path are computed on this device with the Web Crypto API. The publisher key is a test key; the anchor is a test fixture.

    1. Fingerprint-Property: these exact bytes match the SHA-256 in the signed manifest.
    2. Publisher signature-Property: the manifest was signed by the key shown below (demo publisher).
    3. Version policy-Property: this version is not older than the newest version this device has already seen.
    4. Anchor path-Property: the fingerprint leads to the commitment root recorded in the proof.
    5. Freshness-Property: whether a newer version exists. Needs a current view of the publisher or the chain.

Press Verify. Then change one byte and verify again.

Fingerprint, signature, anchor: three different proofs
    Fingerprint
A short value computed from the bytes. One changed byte gives a completely different fingerprint. It says nothing about who published the file.
    Publisher signature
Made with the publisher's private key over the manifest (name, version, fingerprint). It proves who published this version, not that its content is right or current.
    Timestamp anchor
A path from the fingerprint to a commitment that a public chain records. Once confirmed, it shows these bytes existed no later than that block. It proves neither correctness nor that no newer version exists.
03 Verify a receipt after reconnecting

Paid while offline? Check it when you are back.

A merchant receives a payment request, goes offline and comes back later. Each step is separate: signed intent, broadcast, inclusion, confirmations or finality, reconciliation with the invoice.

    04 More verifications

Funding, address checks, two treasuries, first payment.

Scenarios with fictional data. Treasury operations stay in the companies' private spaces.

    B03

A pack funded by an organiser

    1. A port funds translation, storage and distribution of a public pack, in BTC, ETH, USDT or USDC.
    2. The payment is received and reconciled with the funding request.
    3. SALTO nodes deliver the pack; SALTO proofs attest each delivery separately from the payment.
    4. A person at the product company accepts the service and approves the settlement.
    5. Visitors read the pack for free. The public sees the funded service and its state, not budgets or recipients.

The chain documents money movements; SALTO proofs document delivery. Neither replaces the other.

    B04

Check a withdrawal address with a signed challenge

Instead of a test transfer, the owner signs a one-time challenge that names its purpose, a nonce and an expiry.

A proof of control gives no permission to spend. The exact withdrawal still needs human approval. Custodial addresses that cannot sign follow another procedure.

    B05

Two companies, two treasuries, two of three signatures

Each company controls its own treasury. An outgoing payment needs two different approvers; nobody approves their own request.

    • Approver A
    • Approver B
    • Approver C (requester)

    B06

Network fees covered for a first payment

    1. A new user holds USDC but no ETH for network fees.
    2. A sponsor account covers the fee for one eligible first payment, within a cap.
    3. An ineligible operation is refused: wrong token, over the cap, or not a first payment.
    4. If the company would pay automatically, this stays a demo until every outflow keeps a human approval.

No promise of free payments and no coverage of every chain.

05 Where SALTO uses a blockchain

    The truth table.

What exists today, honestly. A screen or a fictional value is not a network integration.
